Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
Verses 41-46Verses 47-50

At last the Believer confessed to have faith in the mission of Moses and continued with his last word saying:-

``O, my people! How is that I call you to Salvation and you call me to the Fire!?''

Among the wonders of faith is the major change of mind and heart of the convert. What really happens in his inner self, that the convert will seriously call his people to Salvation and prosperity, while his people strongly pull him towards the Fire!ِYes! So is the wonderful merit of faith.

Of course his audience did not remain silent, and protested against the believer's ideas. They spoke of the material advantages of their gods, and asked the believer to recant and join them again. But the believer said:-

``What!! You call me to leave Allah, and to take partners for Him, but I call you to the Exalted in might, the All-forgiving.''

Egyptians in their blasphemy worshipped their kings, heroes, animals, idols, and the powers of nature. Their cult was based on polytheism; and did not admit that nothing except God is worthy of worship, and that God is the only reality to whom we shall return.

It was so that the folk of Pharaoh and his guards planned to kill their only Believer; but he was not afraid of being driven to the valley of death, because he was sure enough that God was everywhere and everytime with him; no matter what they could do against him. He had committed himself to the care of Allah the Lord of Moses and Aaron. God did save him from the king's plot and evil decisions.

Some commentators are of opinion that he, in the proper time escaped from the court and joined the Israelites, in the Pass Over:-

``Then Allah protected him from the evils of what they planned...''

The above verse (NO.46) says that the hosts of Pharaoh at present are exposed to the Fire every morning and evening, and in the Day of Doom, they will have the hardest of punishments. This implies that the Fire of punishment which is the consequence of our deeds is present at all time, morning or evening.
