OCCASION OF REVELATION Verses 8-11

``And they were surprised that a warner came to them from among themselves...''

The arrogant people do not recognize anything except that which they apprehend by their defective minds, or physical senses.

When our prophet began to preach the Message of God openly, they wondered how could a mortal the like of them carry the Message of God and can do the work of an angel.

They wondered of coming of a warner, and their wonder was concealed behind their jealousy and envy. They were eager to protect their unlawful religious and social priviledges in any price, and the Message of Mohammad (SA) was thought to be a threat to that. So the man whom they had given the title of AMIN=TRUSTWORTHY, they accused him of being a sorcerer and a liar!

With a common sense they could easily understand that the Messenger of God was curing their mental disease, and replacing their confusion and conflict with harmony and unity.

To quieten the reproaches of their conscience, and the protests of their innerself, they said that they had not heard of such ideas of Monotheism from their forefathers, not even from the Christions who had lastly appeared on the religious stage. They wondered how could they replace some 360 gods that they had, with only one Godhead who was invisible too!:-

``We have not heard this from the latter nations too! (The Christians who taught Trinity). This is nothing but a new invention.''

By, ``MILLAT ÄKHARAT'' translated to, ``LATTER NATION'' reference is to Christianity, the last religion which was preached before Islam. This too was deviated from Monotheism to trinity. The Christions too worshipped three persons of their invented Trinity which they call HYPOSTASIS.

The chiefs of the tribes who thought too much of themselves, said:- ``If ever a Message had to come from a god, why should it come to him, a poor orphan, brought up by ABUTALIB? Why it was not sent through one of the great, rich, and influential men of Mecca!?'' To this effect, many a time they went to Abutalib the chief tribe of GHORAISH, and tried to encourage him so as to denounce Mohammad (SA) but they always failed. When they failed in their unjust purpose, the leaders of Paganism, accused the Messenger of God to have plotted against their social influence in order to take the power out of their hands.
