Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
Verses 31-32Verses 33-35

The turn about, is now on the prophet and the wonderful Qurän, with which he was inspired. Mohammad (SA) our prophet has been addressed here that:-

``What we have revealed to you of the Book is all TRUTH, confirming that which is before it; for Allah is aware of His servants and sees them.''

This verse implies that the revelation of God to all the people is one in essence, and whatever has revealed from our Lord throughout ages, are all truth, and agree with reality, wisdom and knowledge.

*****

To open the matter a little wider, and to explain it with more detail, we may say:- ``All the inspirations and revelations came down from the same God, either to Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, or Mohammad. Before the advent of our prophet, those who could read and write something were very rare, and the art of print had not been invented.''

Generally the Scriptures were committed to memories by those who believed in them. These were always in the frontier when there was a war or a case of hazards, and they were the first ones to be martyred. So the Scriptures that were revealed before the Glorious Qurän were disposed to many hazards, and were naturally perverted, misinterpreted, and misapplied. So it happened that, what is at hands to day is not exactly what was revealed to the source. If we read in the present Bible, what the daughters of Lot did with their father the night after destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, we can easily conclude this.

Therefore to correct the wrongs and to put aright the deviations, and also to confirm what had remained as it was; the Holy Qurän was sent down to Mankind through inspiration to our prophet Mohammad (SA), the Last and the Seal of all the prophets.

Therefore, Qurän confirms the main and unperverted features of the revelations that had come down before it. This is the Last and the Seal of all the Scriptures, because the Message of God is one in the essence and has to satisfy the spiritual needs of Mankind throughout ages.

So, he who reads Qurän in fact he has read the true Bible or the unperverted Gospel.

TRANSLATOR'S NOTE

The next verse introduces the carriers and protectors of the Great Book of Allah which is Qurän, who have so far guarded and protected it, and have conveyed its Message from one generation to the next. These are a group of MOSLEMS who are the elects of God, and have all the merits and mark of approbation, for their heavy task of being the custodians of the TRUST OF GOD. All Moslems are not like them. These are the ones who vie with one another in doing good deeds, according to God's instructions and commandments, and they are the truthful custodians of Qurän over all the Globe.

Of course the real custodian of Qurän is God Himself. He has sent it down and He protects it from all damages and He will explain it too. God does work with appropriate and proper instruments. His protection of Qurän has been done by the ever increasing learned Moslems, and the art of writing and the craft of paper and print. This is why no one can find the least amount of difference between the first Qurän, and the last. There are thousands of Quräns that are kept safe in the hundreds of museums in the world. Some were written in the life time of our prophet and some are the manuscripts of Hazrat Imam Ali (AS), and then there are those written by the hands of scribes and copiers of manuscripts in various ages, after our prophet.

On the other hand nothing is more sacred than Quran, in the sight of a Moslem. Moslems were charged from the beginning, to read Quran, and to rehearsed ti to others, To read and ponder over it- to touch it with clean hands- to follow and obdy its sommandmento- to preserve and to propagate it- ind to commit it to memory as much a they could. For ages Quran was the only text that Mosgemchildren had in their schools to lear. Of course the custodians of Qrurawere the true Moslem, and not those who oppressed  themselves or those who flloed a middl course who are called the moderates here.
