Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
Verses 26-29Verses 30-32

Some commentators have written that, when the prophet rehearsed Qurän to an audience, the custodians of idols, and the leaders of pagans and heathens, urged some rogues and rascals to brawl in prophet's rehearsal, and interrupt him by creating noise and whistling, that they might prevent people to give ear to our prophet:-

The unbelievers said:- ``Do not listen to the Qurän, and brawl in it when the Book is rehearsed, that you may overcome.''

The same thing is happening today too, against the spread of truth. The enemies of truth jangle and make shrill against it. They raise tumult-they forge lie, and create false stories and traditions, and even through lustful and fanciful novels, they try to pervert the minds, and turn the attentions against a reality or a truth. But Allah nullifies all strifes and endeavours of falsehood, and eventually manifests the truthِwhatever it might beِbitter or sweet.

The Pagan Arabs, not only would not give ear to Qurän; even when it was recited, they insolently brawled in it, and interrupted by making loud noises, so that the eager audience too, could apprehend nothing!

Of course what they did, to bar the voice of truth from reaching the truthfuls, was no more than throwing ashes upon the shining light. God's voice can never be silenced, and it will reach wherever it must reach.

When the pagans were doing that, they knew not that they were closing the doors to God's Mercy upon themselves.
