There are six more prophets mentioned here, that were all patterns of constancy and patience, and examples of faith and virtue for those believers who want to move themselves nearer to God, as His truthful servants.
Here the position of being God's servant which is very high a rank, has been attributed to these apostles.
Being God's servant, worshipping, and seeking his aid alone, and to ignore those, other than Him in needs, is a great honour, obtained by those who are developed enough for this purpose. The said prophets here were continually thinking and working for the life to come; for, in their sight this temporary life was not so important as other people consider it.
Here in the above passage, Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac, have been mentioned as men of power and insight. They had the ability to see into the true nature of things with a deep understanding.
The next verse makes a mention of another group of three prophets namely:-
``And make a mention of Ishmael, Elisha, and Zul-kifl, who were all among the good ones.''
Ishmael who was a symbol of self-sacrifice is mentioned here to have been among the elects of God in accompany with Elisha and Zul-kifl.
Ishmael was also the father and the founder of the Arab race, and one of his blessed progeny was Mohammad (SA) the seal of prophets.
Elisha and Zul-kifl too, were examples of virtue piety, and patience, and they were all, God's truthful servants.
As to who the Arabic, ``YAS-A'' was, the views are different. Some commentators know him to be Elisha, a Hebrew prophet, who was disciple and successor of Elisha. (182 Kings O.T) Some other think of him to have been JOSHUA the successor of Moses who led the Israelites into Canaan.
