Who is our real Lord? Here is an answer:-

      ``It is He who appointed you as caliphs upon the earth.''

      Literally caliph has three major shades of meaning:-

1- As the vicegerent of God upon the earth, and God's representative among all other moving creatures here.

2- As successor to previous people, and example of them.

3- As a title of temporal and spiritual rulers in the Mohammadian countries.

      Man should therefore feel his responsibilities on the earth, and know what will the outcome of his work be. Then the immediate reference is to the non-believers where it clearly says:-

      ``Their disbelief will work against themselves, and will serve to increase their loss and to incur God's wrath upon them.''

      So the non-believers should know that their rejection and ingratitudes injures themselves much more than anyone else, and their disbelief will only work against themselves. They will lose their valour and value in the sight of God. By their blasphemy they incur the wrath of God upon their self and soul, and thereby increase their own loss.

      Here we should understand that God's wrath and anger is not like that of Man, which is through stimulation. God has no nerve to be nervous. His anger is when Man's disbelief and evil deeds, bars the way to obtain God's Mercy and Grace.

      The next verse gives another decisive proof aganst the polytheists in an expressive word:-

      ``Say:- Have you seen your partners whom you call apart from Allah? Show me what have they created of the earth, or is there a partnership for them in the heavens...?''

      If your false gods can avail you anything on the earth, tell us what part of the earth have they created? And if as you think, they are connected with the angels and heavens, what sort of a share do they have in the skies. Or else; if you are of opinion that they may intercede with God on your behalf, you must show a Scripture from God to prove your claim. Therefore your worship of such gods has no reason or base at all.

      In other word; those who worship anything or anyone other than the true God, have been asked some questions to answer:-

      1- Can your partners that you ascribe to God create anything?

      2- Have they any partnership in this great and amazing order, that runs millions of planets in their orbits, and controls their movements?

      3- And have your false gods any Book or convincing knowledge to authorize them to be worshipped?

      In the next verse the argument is about the rulership and the ownership of God throughout the universe and the whole existence. He has created everything, sustains them all, and has His control over all of them. In His Infinite intelligent power, large and small has no meaning, and to him the largest and the smallest are both equal and the same to be created, handled, and controlled. In fact an intelligent power is working constantly to control and sustain the whole universe. If one could stop that intelligent power working, everything would fall and fade in a chaos, and there would be nothing but a confused primordial collection of matter and things.
