Verses 101-110Verses 111-113

In the previous verse (NO.100) Abraham who had no son, prayed to his Lord to grant him a righteous son. God answered his prayer and gave him the glad-tidings of having a patient and forbearing boy.

When the boy was grown and reached the age of say 13 or 14, and could give a hand to his old father in the works, Abraham dreamed a curious dream through which God ordered him to sacrifice his son! He was alarmed and Got up, but made sure that it was a real comman of God to have his only son sacrificed!

First of all, he had to inform Ishmael of what was decreed to be done. What a shocking trial that the man of God had to undergo!!? He had to behead his only one and beloved son, with his own hand! And no less strange was the answer of the boy:-

O, my father! Ko as you are ordered. If God speeds, you wil soon fund me to be patient!

Ishmael too, knew that his father's dream conveyed a real commandment of God. So he promised to stand firm in the way of obeying their Lord in all aspects. Then both, the father and son submitted and decided to give their whole being sincerely to Allah; their only one Lord God.

When Abraham told his son that, he had an order from Allah to sacrifice him, Ishmael did not object at all! Perhaps it is more difficult for a father to slay his only son than the victim, but what else could Abraham do, when he was sure that Allah had commanded him to do so?

Both of them, the father and son, submitted to the will of their Lord with pleasure:-

``When both of them submitted, and he laid his son with his forehead on the projection of ground not to look on the Ishmael's attractive eyes; Allah called him saying:- ``O, Abraham! Enough of that. You have already fulfilled My command in your dream.''

Then the angel of God gave the old man of God a big, fat, ram to sacrifice as a ransom for his son.

This vision has occured somewhere in Mecca. It is narrated that Abraham took his son to Manä some six miles north of the town, where a commemoration sacrifice is annually celebrated as a eite of HAJJ (PILGRIMAGE). This vision was indeed a great trial for the father and son, of which both of them passed with excellent mark.

The Jewish tradition refers this sacrifice to ISAAC, instead of Ishmael! This change over has a political basis, in order to glorify the Jewish ancestors against the branch decended from Ishmael which is the ancestor of Arabs, and particularly that of our prophet HAZRAT MOHAMMAD (SA).

However, this is not right, and even according to their canonical Bible its a lie:-

Sarah the wife to Abraham was barren at first. So she asked Abraham and permitted him to marry her Egyptian slave girl that she could bear him a son. Later in the event of Lot and Sodom and Gomorrah, i.e. 14 years later Abraham received the glad-tidings of having a son from his old wife Sarah. Therefore Ishmael was 14 years older than ISAAC, which means that during 14 years Ishmael was the only son of Abraham, and at no time Isaac was the only son of him. This is where we read in the GENESIS-22:2:-

``2:- later on God tested Abraham and said to him:- ``O, Abraham! Take your ONLY SON, ISAAC, whom you love so much, and go to the land of MORIAH. There on a mountain that I will show you, offer him as a sacrifice to me.

9:- ...When they came to the place which God had told him about, Abraham build an altar and arranged the woods on it. He bound his son and placed him on the altar on top of the woods then he picked up the knife to kill him.

11:- But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, Abraham! Don't hurt the boy! Now I know that you fear God, because you have not kept back that you fear God, because you have not kept back your only Son from Him.''
