Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
Verses 73-75Verses 1-3

The ending of this chapter continues with the advent of Resurrection Day and rewards:-

``And those who avoided the displeasure of their Lord, will be ushered / driven towards Paradise in scores.''

The Arabic, ``SEEGHA'' literally should be translateed to, ``drove'', but we have chosen the word, ``USHERED''.

To drive someone somewhere, implies that he dislikes to go there. So driving a group of people to Hell, is true with the word; but to drive them to paradise, is not an eloquent choice On this motive I have used the word to usher, which is used to escort a person to show him his seat in a party, church , public hall, etc, or into somebody's presenct.

But some commentator have taken it to mean otherwise; thinking that their friends and families who have already gone to Paradise are longing for them, to join them sooner.

Some expounders of Qurän have a better explanation for that:

They say, the Companion of Paradise are so occupied in celebrating the praise of their Merciful Lord that they do not care for Paradise or Hell at all, and so they are driven to their everlasting magnificent abode.

In other word; the guest here is so in a tender love with the host, that he thinks not about the glorious entertainment that awaits him.
