Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
Verses 1-2Verses 3-5

Five of the surehs of Qurän, begin with the beautiful phrase that; ``PRAISE BELONGS TO ALLAH''. In the Opening chapter of Qurän, Allah is Praiseworthy for being the Lord and cherisher of all the worlds.

In three of the Surehs, namely; Shebaِfätter, and the cattle, He has been praised for the creation of the universe and everything in it.

In the chapter of the cave, Allah is declared to be praiseworthy for sending Qurän to His servant Mohammad (SA).

He is the real Governor and the real Owner of all the worlds, as well as this present world and the Hereafter.

SAADI, the famous Persian Poet, has:-

I rejoice in Him, of whom the world is happy,

I am in love with all, because all belong to Him.

All the creation; anything that has come to being, are manifestation of beauty, goodness, mercy, perfection, knowledge and discipline. Therefore, everything is an object of praise and admiration. But the real Praiseworthy here is the Creator, and not the creature. We may admire a poem or an art, without a mention of the poet or artist, but evidently our praise returns to the poet or artist. So is the case with the Creator; admiring his creature is admiring him and hence:-

``Praise belongs to Allah the Lord of all the worlds.''

In the second verse above, a little of God's knowledge has been pointed out:-

``He knows whatever that goes into the earth and whatever comes out of it, and....''

Yes! He is well aware of all the drops of rain that sink into the earth. He knows all the seeds that are dispersed by the winds and absorbed by the earth. He also has the knowledge of all the plants, shrubs, and trees, that come out of the earth; and all the creatures that have raised up from the soil, or have been buried in the earth.

When a dead body is buried in the earth, or a seed is sown in the soil; the ignorance will say; ``There is an end of it.'' But knowledge will shout; ``Countless stages of life and death still lies before it, through which every now and then it changes to another new creation!'' And so our death makes us eternal!
