Verses 23-25Verses 26-30

The argument is still about the imitation of ancestors, and Arab's insisting upon their wrong ideas.

The non-believers insisted upon wrong way, with some childsh excuses that:- ``Had Allah willed we would not have worshipped any one besides Him.'' And they said:-

``Our present cult and creed is the footstep of our ancestoral customs, and it is quite all right for us to follow.''

If what they said, was true, they should have had their cult and creed taken from the traces left from Abraham, who was the common ancestor of both, the Arabs and the Israelites. But we all know that Abraham was a strict Iconoclast, whereas the pagan Arabs were idolaters! How can idolatry be a creed of Abraham!?

In order to encourage them to leave their false gods and what they called the cult and the custom of their fathers of old, the prophet said to them:-

``What then, if I bring you a better creed in guidance than that which you say your fathers had it?''

Mohammad's (SA) teaching was indeed superior to what the Arabs called their ancestor's custom; but they valued no reason or wisdom, and rejected their prophet's mission; and denied all kinds of inspirations and revelations. From their ancestors they only inherited ignorance and cruelty. Even after their conversion and accepting the creed of Islam, they were only nominal Moslems, and they did to the nearers and dearers of their prophet, what the history was ashamed to write it down, and make a record of it!
