Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
HE IS NOT A POET VERSES NO.69-70 Verses 71-76

Among primitive people and particularly, in the Arab's pagan era poetry was the language of imagination, and presentation of incidents in fictional forms, such as fairy tales, lyric, forged historical events of honour, epics, and heroic actions. Among the people of earliest ages poetry was associated with rhythms of music and dances.

NEZAMI the prominent Persian Poet has defined poetry thus:- ``The most beautiful poem is among the untruest of them!''

Now-a-days, poetry is defined thus:- ``Poetry is a language that conveys the experience of feeling and emotion.'' On contrary, Qurän consists of verses that are true, real, perspicuous, and all based upon wisdom, knowledge, and experience, for guiding mankind at the best possible wayِguides those group of people who are aliveِphysically and spiritually, and who are willing to avoid evil.

Those who are not responsive to the realities of the spiritual world are deads, and cannot make use of Qurän, unless God wills otherwise.

One of the SUREHS of QURÄN has been named, ``THE POETS'' for verses No.224ِ227:-

``And as to the poets; those who are straying will follow them. Don't you see that they are wandering in every field. And that, they say what they do not do it themselves; With the exception of those who have believed, and do righteous deeds, and they remember Allah too much, and when they are oppressed they defend themselves (by their poetries); and soon the oppressors will know by what an overturning will they be overturned.''
