Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
Verses 77-78Verses 79-81

``Then wait patiently, that Allah's promise comes true...''

The prophet was promised of his victory over the heathens; and a painful punishment was promised the unbelieversِand now we know well, that god's promises to both parties were fulfilled.

Our prophet lived long enough, to see a part of his enemies punished here in this world, and in the life to come he who sows evil, will not harvest except evil:

``...whether we show you some of what we promise them, or take you to us.''

This verse of patience, implies that the prophet has to convey his Message, and wait patiently to see the results either in this world or in the Hereafter.

The conveyance will cause the unbelievers not to have a reasonable excuse, and the believer to be guided further.

Then in order to console His prophet, Allah reminds him of the Messengers who had come before him and their encounters and difficulties:-

``And We have sent our Messengers before you...''

According to some Islamic narration God Has sent 124 thousands of apostles, Messengers, and prophets, to convey His true Message to Mankind.

Some of the prophets and arch prophets have been named in Qurän with parts of their stories, but there are a large number whose names have not been mentioned in the Holy Book.

So the truth of God has been made clear for Man, as a result of the strife and endeavour of the former prophets. Now the signs of God can be seen by discerning eyes, everywhere and everytime.

God has also not ceased to show new signs, and new miracles to His servants, but such revelations will be given to some of God's servants upon certain condition.
