Verses 31-32Verses 33-34

These verses complete the foregoing discussion about Monotheism. Here the immediate reference is to natural Monotheism, or the instinctive faith of Man in God, the protector Lord:-

``Do you not see that the ship sails in the sea by the Grace of God in order to show you some of His signs?''

The sail of the ship upon the sea is achieved by the application of a series of natural rules and scientific laws that are legislated by the creator of the nature. If one of such laws are violated, the ship may sink down and drown.

In the past the ship sailed by the power of the wind and the journey on the sea was dependent on the wind and the direction from which it blew. Then the wind could either be all-useful or all-harmful.

Now, a-days that, the ships sail by the powerful engines, the wind is still a great factor, that must come to account. A tempest can cause a furious storm, and move the ship so violently that the hearts of the crew may come to their throats, for fear of drown!:-

``And when a wave covers them like clouds in their voyage, they earnestly call Allah, and pray to Him for help, making their religion purely for him; but when He delivered them to the land....''

When the sea became calm, and their ship reached the shore, and the passenger found himself safe and secure, he may become indifferent. A class of them live moderately, while some of them will forget Allah and all that was happening, and they will do as they like, and not as they have to.

Almost all people in the physical dangers, like the passengers in a ship or airplane, when they are shaken for fear of a crash, or drown, they seriously begin to think of God, and seek His help. But once the danger is past and they are delivered, the condition turns otherwise. Some will remain thankful as usual, and some forget the danger and their rescue very soon after.

This proves that Man by instinct and his nature of creation, has faith in God. This belief always exists in the depth of his inner self; but it is concealed under the cover of the lusts, fancies, and vain caprices, and so Man may temporarily forget his Lord.
