Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
Verses 47-50Verses 51-54

Through the above passage of Qurän, Allah orders His Messenger in four cases to say something to people, who are faithless and have strayed, so as to give a stop to their flimsy excuses:-

``Tell them whatever of rewards I have asked you, leave it for yourselves!

Tell them my Lord casts the truth in the heart of His apostles, and smashes the falsehood by it.

Tell them the truth has come and falsehood is gone. And eventually tell them:- ``If I err, it is my fault, and if I am guided it is by God's inspiration.''

What had the prophet to gain for his reward from them, if they converted, and what would he lose if they rejected?

His warning, teaching and guidance was for people's own good. He never asked anyone for any material or physical reward, for guiding the semi wild nation to a developed people who claimed universal leadership of the worlds! Yes! Once upon a time he did ask them for a little reward:-

``I do not ask you a wages for this except kindness for the kinsfolk.'' (S 42:23)

And we saw what sort of a kindness the Arabs did to our prophet's dearest and nearest. They beheaded his beloved grandson, and all his companions! They took the household of our prophet as captives and made a show of the captives from KARBALA to Syriaِcurse of God upon them with their kindness! Pen is ashamed of writing how they treated the household of their prophet.

In the next verse it is revealed that Qurän is undeniable light of truth, and it has been sent down to our prophet from God directly through inspiration. It is a mere truth that God casts it upon falsehood, so that falsehood will perish an unrevivable perishment. In other word, through the extension of Islam truth extents and expands, and meanwhile falsehood will contract, and eventually vanish with any revival or renewal.

We have seen throughout 15 centuries that every endeavour was tried, and efforts was done in order to frustrate God's truth, and to cover the light of Allah by sprinkling ashes or dusts of falsehood, upon it. But the truth always came up and stood on the top of the sprinkled ashes. In other word the truth of God creates new situations and develops continually and unlike the falsehood, it never fails.

If we see that in spite of Islam, falsehood still exists here and there, this can be made clear by a parable:-

``We may bring an expert doctor to visit a patient of bad condition. We can tell the patient that the means of your recovery and rescue is now besides you.''

Then when the necessary medicine is bought and all the preprations used in treating disease has been made ready, we can tell the patient that your difficulties have been removed. But all these preparations are means, and not the cause! The patient must use the medicine, and has to avoid what the doctor wants him to keep clear of. Then he will be cured.

So is the case with truth; all the means which for its prevalence are needed, have been prepared and all are in access. Now the Man who has been granted Free Will, should proceed to vanquish the falsehood, and become a man of truth.

The last of the above verses will make clear that what the prophet says is from God, and not from himself. All the guidances are from God, and in God's inspiration there can be no mistake or wrong:-

``Say:- If I am strayed, it is from me, and if I am guided it is by God's inspiration.''

If there was something wrong with our prophet or as the heathens and enemies accused him, he was possessed, or if he was a sorcerer as the oppressors charged, the consequences of such attributes would only affect him, and would appear somehow in his personality, and also in his end. But we can see clearly that his noble end was a great beginning, and he went on from power to power and from dignity to dignity, and he finally won the enduring love of all the true men of God, throughout ages. If he was not dependent upon the truth and inspiration of God, it was not possible for any Arab with whatever of faculties, to be the Mohammad (SA) that we know now. If we do not call him the Messenger of God, what else can we call him?
