“Shaheed’ is one of those attributes of God that have many meanings. According to some it is an attribute of His Being because it means the present and manifest knowledge and so is connected with knowledge.

If it means the witness of the deeds of men then it will be regarded as an attribute of deeds and this is how it is here. We now turn our attention to the following two verses:

Surah Al Imran Verse 98:

God is Himself witness to all that you do.

Surah Anam Verse 19:

Say, “God is witness between me and you”
