The attribute of Eloquence and the Islamic TraditionsThe Explanations of Mafuradat

WE have discussed the eloquence of God and how is truthful in His words, so now we turn to God and His truth.

The attribute of eloquence is one of the most important attribute of God and it denotes the confidence He has on His apostles and Messenger because if there is a scope of mistruth then there will be no confidence on the revelations, the promise of the Judgment Day, the realization of religion and the welfare and damnation of the humans. In other words deny the attribute of eloquence of God will mean destroying the base of religion. So we learn how important it is to believe in the truthfulness of God. This may be the reason that Qura’n has mentioned this important issue in various ways and styles.

After this brief introduction we now revert to the under-mentioned verses whole heartedly:

Surah Nisaa Verse 87:

“And who is truer in statement than God?”

Surah Nisaa Verse 122:

“And whose words can be truer than God’s?”

Surah Al Imran Verse 152:

“God did indeed fulfill His promise to you.”

Surah Ahzab Verse 22:

“This is what God and His Messenger promised us and God and His Messenger told us what was true.”(1)

1. This meaning is found in other verses of the Qura’n also like Zariyat 5, Anam 115, Zumar 74, Fath 27, The term “Inna la Sadiquun” has come in  Anam 146, and Hijr 64.
