We understand from the above verses that the attributes of God have no similarity with the attributes of his creation and any form of conjecture in this regard will lead to a fall in a dangerous and fathomless abyss.

There is nothing similar to Him; He has no equal or partners; He cannot be described; no one can comprehend or encircle his knowledge and so we should be very careful about understanding the attributes of God.

No one knows about His real attributes and mankind has only a superfluous knowledge with the limitation that the attributes found in the creations should not be attached to God. The attributes should be given a new form and a more profound meaning.

We conclude the discussion on this verse with an anecdote of Amirul Mumineen. When some one asked him for an explanation of this very verse, he said, “The created cannot understand the knowledge of God (The Creator) because He has veiled their hearts that could see and no heart can prove his limitation excepting for those attributes that he has explained for Himself .Do not merge them with other attributes as He declared “Nothing is similar to him; He hears and sees.” (1)
