EXPLANATIONEXPLANATION OF THE VERSES

All those who believe in God consider Him to be ever living and eternal. These two attributes are not separate from each other because the ever living cannot be far from the age and time or He will not be ever living. When His existence is unlimited then He must be eternal. (Reflect)

In other words all the proofs of God prove Him to be ever living and eternal and the necessary being. It is evident that the necessary being will be the one who is his own self and He will be eternal. It is the contingent who was not existing one day and then existed on the next and then will die after a specified time. The Necessary being cannot be the same.

With this brief introduction we now come to the Qura’n and ponder on the under mentioned verses:

Surah Hadeed Verse 3:

He is the First and the Last; the evident and the hidden; and He has the knowledge of all things.

Surah Rahman Verses 26-27:

All that is on the earth shall perish. (27) But the Face of the Lord shall abide for ever, full of majesty, bounty and honor

Surah Ta-Ha Verse 73:

For God is best and most abiding.

Surah Qassas Verse 88

Everything will perish except His face.
