In the second verse in this discussion after declaring that God is aware of your intentions and knows all the secrets of the beings in existence it says, “Say, “Whether you hide what is in your breast or reveal it God knows it; and He knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth.”

This verse warns those who misuse the use of “Taqayya” as discussed earlier and absolve themselves of all responsibilities. They believe that they will be judged by the one who is aware of not only the secrets of the hearts but also the secrets of the heavens and the earth. The same issue has been discussed in verse 284 of Surah Baqarah that says, “Whether you show what is in your minds or conceal it, God will call you to account for it.”

It is certain the accounting will be done when there is awareness. The word “Sudoor” used earlier denotes the souls and this verse is more suitable for it. The heart is in the chest and the heart throbs have a very close relation with human life. All manner of changes have profound effects on the human heart. the word “”Qalb” in the Qura’n has been used to denote the soul and life.

In other words, all the feelings in the soul like love, hate, envy, happiness, sadness, fear, terror, ease, relaxation, secrecy and expression affect the heart and the body. The heartbeat, normal or otherwise affects the human body though it is known that the center of the feelings in the souls is not in the heart or brain but is connected only with his soul. This is why it is often said that heart at times means the intellect or the intelligence.
