INTRODUCTION:THEY ALL CHANT HIS PRAISE

The word “Quddoos” is a hyperbole that originates from the word “Qads” and it actually means purity and cleanliness. According to Maqayis-ol-Loghat it is used for God because He is free from opposites, similarities, wives and sons. Raghib in Mafuradat and Ibn Manzoor in Lisan-ol-Arab say that this word is used cynically for God and to denote purity among humans and Maqayis-ol-loghat says this is a pure Islamic connotation.

The land of Qadsiya was so named because Hazrat Ibrahim had prayed for its purification but we should remember that according to Raghib this word is used to denote spiritual cleanliness and it is not connected with physical purification. It is the sign of human belief that should consider God to be much elevated and pure from every kind of defect and deficiency.

According to some linguists the word “Zabeeh” has two meanings.

First means to remove, Qura’n has declared God to be far removed from every defect and deficiency.

And secondly to move fast in water and bathe but you can revert both the meanings to single source and that is whether is a quick movement for worship and obedience, or to elucidate that God is bereft all defects or water, or the fast movement on earth because movement takes a man and close and also far. Where it means defects it is taken to be far and where it means to swim fast and go fast through air and water there the cause of movement will be worth attention.(1)
