The Explanation and the MessageThe Explanations and the Message

All the four are attributes of deeds and their vast meanings encompass the entire creation. Logically they are mentioned after the initial creation and this is why we mentioned them after the words that denote creation and creativity.

We will now study the following verses:

Verse 26 of Al Imran says, “Say, “O God! Master of the kingdom”

Verse 4 of Surah Hamd:

The Lord of the Day of Judgment.(1)

Verse 114 of Surah Ta-ha

High above all is God, the King, and the self-existent Truth.(2)

Verse 87 of Surah A’raf:

He is the best of the judges(3)

Verse 164 of Surah Anam:

Say, “Shall I seek other than God for a Lord when He is the lord of all things?”(4)

Verse 209 of Surah Baqarah:

Know that God is exalted in power, wise.(5)

1. The word Maalik has been used thrice in the Qura’n. In two of them it means God as mentioned above and in one place is regarded as the angel responsible for Hell.
2. The word Malik has been used 11 times in the Qura’n; in five of them it refers to God like in Ta-ha 114, Muminun 116, Hashr 23, Jumuah 1, and Naas 2
3. The word “Hakimeen” has been used 5 times in the Qura’n and every where for God. A’raf 87, Yunus 109, HUD 45, Yusuf 80, and Tiin 8
4. The word Rabb has been used 800 times in the Qura’n and it denotes the extra ordinary attributes and powers of God.
