EXPLANATIONS FROM MAFURADATTHE PURPOSE OF THE CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF God.

The first verse speaks about the never ending rule of God; it is stressed that every thing is under His control without conditions.

“Blessed be He in whose hand is the dominion; and He has power over all things.” Verse 1 Surah Al Mulk.

The meaning of the word “Tabarak” which originates from “Bark” is the chest of the camel. When the camel keeps his chest on the ground then it is termed as “Bark al ba’eer” and is used to denote eternal, well fare, and never ending.

The blessed gift is the gift that is ever lasting. It is used for God for He is ever-living and eternal. The term “In whose hands” denotes total control and He is the owner of the universe and can use it.

The term “He has power over all things” has vast connotations. His power includes everything because “thing” to has a vast meaning and is used for everything in existence in this universe.

It should be noted that if this term is used for the contingent being then it is because of its conditions. When we say God has power over such thing but it does not exist it means that He has the power to create it or else having power over the uncreated and unseen has no meaning.

Since man’s life is very limited and his imaginative powers are weak he is used to preconditions of limit and so he thinks of limitations in the issue of power. But the verse is breaking all conditions and barriers because the power of God is far above any conditions and limits. The word Qudrat is used only for the exoteric beings or the manifest beings and the issue of expressing power over what is not created is wrong.

Tafsir loghat says the word “Qadeer” is a hyperbole and its meaning is greater than the meaning of “Qadir”.

This is why “Qadir” has often been used in the Qura’n to denote the power of God. This is also why it is only after “Qadeer” that the book mentions death, life, the seven firmaments, and the creation of the stars and the repulsion of the Satans who are great examples of the things that exist.
