The first verse after declaring that there is none that resembles Him enumerates two of his attributes, the all-hearing and the all-seeing. The verse says, “Nothing whatsoever resembles Him and He is the all-hearing, the all-seeing.”

It is clear that none like Him means there is none like Him in existence, attributes and deeds because He is the necessary being and His attributes and deeds are unlimited. Some commentators erroneously believe that there is no being like Him but others may have the same attributes.

It is true that words, like, knowledgeable, controlling, hearing and seeing are used for others but there is no doubt that the meaning for every second person has different connotations. We will discuss under Explanation Inshallah.

This is why some commentators have take this verse to mean that only God is hearing and seeing and this hearing and seeing is for that entity who is all encompassing over everything and that is only God. The hearing of mankind is limited to certain wavelengths and seeing to a limited number of colors. It is a modern discovery that those sounds that man cannot hear normally are great in numbers compared to those he can hear. This is the same with colors.
