The third verse discusses the effects of God’s decision on the fate of the people and this brings a ray of hope for the oppressed. It says, “And We wished to be gracious to those being oppressed in the land, to make them leaders (in faith) and make them heirs.” The use of the word “Nurido” clarifies that the Sunnah of God is ever living and His laws are eternal that He strengthens and establishes the oppressed and weak people and destroys the vain people.

We should remember that the verse speaks about the oppressed and not the old and weak, or the people who always strive and are in a state of Jihad but have been weakened by the enemies, and not those who have become weak through their shamelessness.

If we attach this verse with verse 105 of Surah Anbiya that says, “My servants the righteous shall inherit the earth.” We shall know that the meaning of the word “Oppressed” denotes those righteous people who wage jihad.

We should pay attention to the fact that the word “Numan” actually means a critical weight and has been connected with the great gifts and when this relates to God it means the bestowing of great rewards but for humans it may be referring to the help that is given as a favor. There is however, a great discussion about the rule of the downtrodden in this universe which we will discuss at the proper place. What is pertinent now is the nurturing intention of God for the humans which has an extra ordinary effect; it is a source of strength against the unjust and gives the down-trodden the message of success.
