Verses 4-6DREAMS

Here the story of Joseph begins with his curious dream which gave an start to the subsequent events:ِ

``Father! said he, ``I have dreamt a curious dream! I saw eleven stars, and the sun and the moon. I saw them all prostrating themselves to me.''

The dream meant much to Jacob. The sun could be taken as the father in his interpretation, and the moon as JOSEPH'S MOTHER. Therefore, the eleven stars too, could be his eleven brothers. His apprehensions made Jacob very thoughtful and so he said to Joseph:ِ

``My son! Do not relate your dream to your brothers, lest they conspire against you and plan a plot by jealousy and envy.''
