This is a complementary verse to the preceding, which gives more emphasis to the purpose, proclaiming that:- ``Those who undergo the guardianship and guidance of Allah, His Messenger, and those of the believers mentioned in the previous verse (No. 55); they shall be victorious, for being members in the Party of Allah.'' There is another reason here, that the meaning of Vali in the verse, is Governing Guardian; and not simple friend, because conquest and victory ascribed to the Party of Allah is a character, and graphic symbol of Islamic Government, and it has nothing to do with simple friendship between a Muslim and or a non- Muslim. The ending of the verse is that the party of Allah is the victor. The victory in this verse is not restricted to the spiritual or moral triumph and conquests. It rather includes all phases, and all kinds of spiritual, physical, social, and cultural overcoming, because Islam overcomes all and none can gain victory over it. If today we see that Muslims are not victorious and they fail frequently, every now and then, and here and there; it is because they are not true Muslims. They have not obtained the necessary merits to satisfy the terms and conditions of being a member to the Party of Allah, which is the party of truth, faith and good- deeds. VERSE NO.56
