The Story of the people of Kahf in historical books The first explanation is more correct

It is commonly known that the cave was near the city of Ufsoos which is located in central Asia or the present day turkey and the eastern kingdom of the Rome.

It was located 40 miles in the south east of Izmir on the banks of the river Yisir. (1)

The city “Ufsoos” is internationally famous for its temple “Othayis” because it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. (2)

According to some, however, the cave of the sleepers is located in Tartoos a city in Syria. (3)

There still exists a locality in Damascus known as the cave of the sleepers and people throng to see it.
