Among the historical events that Qura’n has mentioned in the story of Hazrath Ibrahim and the four birds. This event has been mentioned immediately after the incident of Prophet Uzair in the Qura’n.

Verse 260 of Sarah Baqarah says:

“And remember when Ibrahim said, “Lord! Show me how you give life to the dead” God asked, “Do you not believe?” He answered, “Yes, but to be stronger in faith”. God said, “Take four birds then make them come to you (then slaughter them and cut them to pieces) and put a portion of them on every hilltop and then call them; they will come to you in haste. And know that God is all might and all-wise.”

If we overlook the decisions that we have made earlier and look at the verse and do not accept the effects of our inherent whims then we will find that Hazrat Ibrahim wanted to see the resurrection for his own certitude. So he was asked to conduct the experiment himself and the body parts of the slaughtered birds were mixed in the same way as the body parts of the humans are scattered (after their death). Their body parts were then scattered and then they came together by the command of God to have renewed lives.

The explanations given by many commentators also confirm this statement. He was passing by a river and he saw a dead animal whose body was half in water and half on land. On the one side the birds were feasting on it and on the other the river creatures were eating it. Ibrahim thought to himself how these parts will be resurrected and become alive when it is quite possible that they will become the food of other animals.

Now Ibrahim was a designated Apostle of God and revelations used to come to him; he believed in everything a belief that was far superior to the faith obtained through logical conclusions. But he still desire to see the resurrection and feel it so God commanded the body parts of the birds to come together and become alive so that he could observe it with his own eyes and so that his heart would rest in peace.
