The Qura’n has spoken about the trumpet being blown twice (once for death and another for life). This can be easily discerned in the previous verses but some traditions tell us that the trumpet will be blown thrice and these traditions have been supported by the verses of the Qura’n.

The late Waylmi has recorded a Hadith in both Lialil Akhbar and Irshad-ol-Quloob that says that the trumpet will be blown thrice (once for death, the second for life and the third for standing for accountability)

At the end of the world the Angel Israphael will come down to earth and blow the trumpet once which will be the cause of terror as God says in verse 87 of Surah Naml : “And the Day on which the trumpet will blown-and all who are in the heavens and who are on the earth will be terrified except him whom God desires (to be exempted). And all shall come to him humbly.”

During this time a great earthquake will shake the world and mankind will run helter skelter as drunken men.”

In verse 68 of Surah Zumar the Qura’n says:

 “And the trumpet will be blown (to be heard) by all who are in the heavens and on earth and the trumpet will be blown a second time and behold they will be standing staring ahead.” (1)

Some have added that it will be blown four times and that fourth is for gathering mankind and presenting them before God. This has been taken literally from verse 53 of Surah Ya-sin that says:

“It will be but a single Sayhah (shout) so behold they will all be brought before us”

The truth is that these two shrieks have enlarged into four since the spread of fear and terror will precede the first trumpet while their gathering too will also be a link of this shriek.

This is confirmed by verses 6 and 7 of Surah Naziat that say:

“On the Day the earth and the mountains will shake violently. The second blowing of the trumpet shall follow it.”

When the great earthquake will shake the entire world it will be followed by an earthquake that will bring all mankind together. (Reflect)
