The eighth verse introduces yet another feature where in “Khabeer” and ‘Baseer’ have been brought together. The beginning of the verse speaks about the divine revelation and other divine books and then speaks about the revelation of the Qura’n. At the end of the verse it says, “Indeed God is all-aware fully observant of his servants.” This points to the fact that this divine book in every manner is compatible to the needs of mankind because it has been revealed by a God who is aware of all the needs of His subjects for he watches over them. One interpretation is that this is an answer to those who used to say, “Why has the Qura’n been revealed on Mohammad the orphan and the weak (financially). Qura’n answered “God knows his servant well about who has the ability to bear the responsibility of prophethood” the next verse may contain the meaning of this verse (1)
It is possible that both these interpretations may be merged. Some commentators feel that the word “Khabeer” is about the spiritual deeds and “Baseer” refers to the manifest and physical ones and this is why “Khabeer” has been highlighted. Though the origin of “Khabeer” is Khabr” and means vastness and includes the manifest and hidden deeds but since “Baseer” has been mentioned with it which is connected only with the unseen so there may be a difference between them. (Raghib in Mafuradat says “Khabeer” means the information of the hidden deeds.
