                    medicines that contain alcohol Taking medicines in whose ingredients alcohol has been used and which are not in toxicating is permissible for patients. However, if the ingredients of a drug are in toxicating, it is permissible to take it only on the condition that it becomes absolutely urgent and it is a rare drug for which there is no alternative. Taking skin medicines in whose ingredients alcohol has been used is permitted. Buying and selling medical and cosmetic products made of pig oil or the gelatin of an animal which has not been slaughtered in Islamic form are permissible and so is using this oil for moisturizing hands and the face. However, pig fat is definitely impure and must be washed away for prayer. But fat derived from animals with halal meat is not impure
