                    Halal meat animals the meat from cow, sheep, camel, goat, wild donkey, gazelle, giraffe and kangaroo is halal. But the meat from horse, mule and donkey is makrūh. The meat from predators, elephants, rabbits and insects is haram. The meat from birds with talons as well as birds that often hold their wings out in a straight line while flying is haram. But birds that have gizzard or hind toe and also birds that continuously flap their wings while flying have halal meat. Amongst the animals, only scaly fish and shrimp have halal meat and the rest of them are haram. In addition, crab, lobster and oyster is also haram. Eating a halal meat which has been cooked by the steam coming from haram meat is impermissible and the meal is considered to be najis as well.
