#36 Paying Attention to Those Who Came Before Us

Text of the Hadith:

قال رسول الله (صلي الله عليه و آله وسلم):إنما أنتم خلف ماضيين ،و بقية متقدمين كانوا أكبر منكم بسطة ،و أعظم سطوة ،فازعجوا عنها أسكن ما كانوا إليها (

Commentary of Hadith:

This hadith is in relation to paying attention to the history of those who have already passed away and this is also an issue which the Noble Quran has placed emphasis upon and has been alluded to in various verses of the Quran.

This hadith tells us that there were nations in the past who were much greater than us in relation to their wealth, children and power and although they had all of this, it still did not stop the Angel `Izrail (peace be upon him)
