The first feature of the apostle is that he is truthful because he relays the messages from God. If there is no reliance on his words then the Words of God also will not be believed. This is why has put a great emphasis on this issue.

The first verse says:

“(Also) mention in the Book (the story of Abraham): he was a man of truth, a prophet.”

And the same meaning can be found in verse56 of Surah Maryam for Hazrat Idris and verse 46 of Surah Yusuf.

The verse before describing this feature (Truth) has described the feature of Messengership which is the reality of his ministry and the fountainhead of truth.

This is why the word “Siddiqan” is the hyperbole of “Sidq” (1) which means to be very truthful and to never lie and be equal in both words and deeds. This is why the revelation is called the complete truth or the transfer of the words to the people truth fully and without any blemish. This is why it is necessary for a person to study the conditions of the apostle and realize this feature. This is why the word “Siddiq” has been used for Hazrat Yusuf. This is a feature of recognition of an apostle of God. Verse 46 of Surah Yusuf says: “O Joseph! The man of truth.”
