Glad tidings and Severest punishmentsDissipation of Conflict

It is evident that those vain people who listened to the preaching of the Apostles denied them because of their personal issues and failings. Had God not sent the Apostles they would have presented their own frivolous ideas. He has sent the Apostles for us to believe and to accept their mission and to refrain from falsehood. This is why the purpose of their mission was to present a conclusive argument against the detractors.

This could be presented against the deniers or liars after taking into account all their contentions and then proving all of them to be wrong only then will the question of “Jazaa” be fulfilled. This is why the 8th verse says:

“We sent Messengers to convey glad tidings and to warn, so that there exists to doubt among the people about God after the coming of the Messengers, and God is Mighty, Wise.”

Verse 134 of Surah Ta-Ha says:

“And had we destroyed them with a chastisement before this, they would certainly have said, “Lord! Why did you not send a Messenger for us so that we could have followed your signs before we were so humiliated and disgraced?”

Verse 47 of Surah Qassas says:

“Were it not so, and should a calamity befall them for what their hands commit, they would have said, “Lord! Why did you not send us a Messenger to follow your signs and believe?”
