The Day they will be called to a terrible thingThe Day When We will ask Hell “Are you full?”

This terrifying des c r i p tion of the Day of Reckoning is certainly very strange. In verse 48 of Surah Qamar it is said:

“On the day they shall be dragged into the fire on their faces; taste the touch of Hell”

We know that the face is one of the softest parts of the body with the important parts like eyes, mouth and nose. We also know that the fire of Hell is far stronger than that of this world and this worldly fire is a mere wisp.

Try and imagine what it would be like to be dragged face down? It is not only the greatest punishment for the sinners it includes both eh physical as well as spiritual aspects.

“Saqar” itself means Hell or that part of Hell which has the fiercest fire and which is the final abode of the vain people. There are two sides of this and the hadith from Imam Jafar Sadiq confirms the second one. He said:

“It is an abyss that is the abode of the proud ones and it enrages the fire of Hell whenever it breathes.” (1)
