Second PartThe Day the Mountains and the Skies will move rapidly

The explanation of the Qura’n is clear after what has been said earlier about the Day of Judgment. This name has come in only one verse of the Qura’n verse No 48 of Surah Ibrahim. This verse speaks about the retribution that will be taken by God from the unjust oppressors. The verse says:

“On the day the earth changes into a different earth and so will the heavens.”

At first every thing will be mutually settled and then the Creator of this Universe will create new skies and earths under a new scheme which will be superior in the way the nature of the Day of Judgment will demand.

The question is will the appearance of the world change or will its existence be subjected to change? There is a debate among the commentators about this. Some say that all the mountains and jungles will be destroyed and the earth will seem to be silver white, a land on which no drop of blood has been shed and no sin committed. The skies will change in the same manner.

Some say that this earth and the skies will cease to exist and will be replaced by a new world and skies but as we have said before this assumption is not compatible with the various verses of the Qura’n which say that the human graves and its earth will remain the same. And we say that this change in the earth will be after the new life of mankind then this will be contradictory to the other portion of the verse which says:

“And all men shall be marshaled forth to God, the One, and the Vanquisher.”

This is because that the manifestation of the creatures will be after the changes in the world.
