This term has also been used only once in the Qura’n in verse 103 of Surah Hud. After speaking of the torments of the hereafter the Book says:

“This is the day for which mankind shall be gathered together and it shall be witnessed by all.”

The first and the last of the creatures will witness their deeds, accounting, justice of God but they will also the rewards and punishment for their deeds on that day.

Tabrisi in Majmaul Bayan and Allama Tabatabai in Al-

Mizan have said that the truth of the verse is witness that only mankind but the Jinns and the angels too will be gathered on that day because it is the day of collective gathering of all creatures.

Qartabi too says that the residents of the heavens too will stand witness on that day.

Every day is seen and observed but the Day of Judgment has been explained to be undeniable on the one side, the importance of the events of that day has been elaborated and that every creature will be present on that day.
