The resurrection is an issue which is connected with the life after death as we will discuss about the proof of the hereafter Inshallah. Many proofs depend on it and the raising of the dead may be through various modes as defined in the book.

The verses cited about this issue speak of three important facts; the creation of man from clay, the changes in the stages of the infant in the mother’s womb and the pouring of life giving rain.

The Book then says, “This is so because God indeed is true, and because He gives life to the dead, and He has the power over all things.”

The word “Haqq” here means the reality and the proof. According to Al Mizan this points out that God is the very truth. And the Truth of everything in existence in this universe depends on Him. (1)

The opposite of “Haqq” is “Batil” which has not existence or proof and it is nothing but a whim a fancy or a mirage.

The point to be noted is that the verse speaks about three things, the creation from clay, the changes in infant in the mother’s womb and the rekindling of the dead earth. These have also been quoted as the real proof of God’s existence. They have been used as proof of the life after death and the reality is that all the continuous changes that take place in the universe prove that there is an unchanging factor which rules everything and these are all (His) signs of authority for they are proof that life after death is possible and will definitely take place.

As has been mentioned above the explanation of life after death in all its vastness have come as a proof of resurrection. This is a valid proof of physical resurrection and not just the spiritual one. The human body will also return in the hereafter (though in a different mode and condition which is higher and which will be explained later) had the resurrection been spiritual only then the life after death would have been meaningless because the soul exists even after it is separated from the body.
