The Gardens of ParadiseThe Houses in Paradise

Many verses speak about the shades in paradise. Verses 27 to 31 say:

“And those on the right hand; who will be those on the right hand? Among the thornless lote trees, among the trees with fruits piled one on top of another in shade long extended by water flowing constantly.”

The shade of trees are pleasant and comforting and they are not as dark as the shades in the tent and the rooms and is not without the freshness of the breeze. The wetness of the leaves makes the shades very pleasing and the fragrance of the petals and the flowers please the hearts and fill them with pleasure.

Verse 35 of Surah Raad speak about the ever lasting shades of Paradise and they will never interrupt the peace of mankind.

“Its provision is eternal”

Verse 57 of Surah Nisaa says:

“We shall admit them to shades wide and deepening.” (1)

The verse 13 of Surah Insaan says:

“They shall not find any sun there or any cold.” (2) (3)

1. “Zal Zaleel” means the shade of something shady. This means an ever lasting shade. Other verses speak about the same too like verse 35 of Surah Raad, 56 of Yasin and 41 of Mursilaat.
2. “Zamhariiraa” is derived from “Zamhar” which means extreme cold or to be extremely angry. The first meaning is applicable here. See also Surah Waqiah-30, Yasin 56, and Mursilaat 41 etc.
3. The same meaning is there in Surah Waqiah 30, Yasin 56 and Mursilaat 41
