The easiness and the difficulties in the accounting on the Day of JudgmentExplanation of the Verses

The hadiths speak vividly about the Siraat but in verses of the Qura’n there are just hints about it. It is a bridge built over Hell and every one will have to cross it. There are many hints about Mirsaad too. It may be the same bridge or a specific part of this bridge.

From these des c r i p tions we learn that we will have to cross this bridge in order to reach Paradise. This will not be easy for any one but the pious people. The sinners, criminals and mischief makers do not have the moral strength to cross this bridge and they will fall into the fathomless abyss of Hell.

There are many interpretations and stories about Siraat and Mirsaad some connected to hadith and some to the discussion of the commentators. Paying heed to them solves many problems regarding resurrection and has a profound affect on those whose hearts are always awake.

With this brief introduction we turn to the Qura’n and study the following verses:

Verse 71 and 72 of Surah Maryam:

“Not one of you but will pass over it: This is a decree which must be done. 72 But We shall save those who guarded against evil, and We shall leave the sinner therein (humbled) on their knees.

Verse 14 of Surah Fajr:

“For your Lord is watchful.”

Verse 66 of Surah Yasin:

“If it had been Our will we could surely have gouged their eyes and they would have raced to the path but how could they have seen?’

Verses 21 and 22 of Surah Naba:

“Truly Hell is a place of ambush 22 for transgressors a destination.”
