The first verse speaks about the gathering of all nations before God. After explaining how the ancient nations were destroyed because of their sins the Book says:
““And surely all, every one of them will be brought before Us.” (1)
It is also correct that in this world and at every moment all mankind and all things are present before God because He is everywhere and is closer to us than ourselves. But this will have a new form on the Day of Judgment because on the one side the screens of neglect, ignorance and naivety will be removed, the eye sights will sharper and the eyes of the hearts will be opened and on the other side the signs of God will be clearer. His court of justice will be opened and all things will be presented in a new manner. Everyone will be aware of this too.
The 2nd verse speaks about the judgments and His decrees about them. All disputes in this world will be resolved whether they are about differences in faith, or the way of living in this world or any other matter. It is said:
“God will judge between you on the day of Resurrection about what you used to differ.”
The screens that cover human ideologies in human hearts and minds ( like self aggrandizement, egoism, individual or group selfishness, bias, jealousy, sins or others) do not give mankind enough respite to resolve the disputes between nations, groups and societies but all these screens will be removed and the judgment will be in God’s hands so they will all be resolved. It will be seen that the lying and selfish complainants will become subdued and come to their sense to become witness against themselves.
The same meaning is there in the 3rd verse but in another style. The Messenger has spoken about humans whom God has created through “Ahsanot taqweem” or the best form of creation but because of their sins they have become the lowest of the low and began making fun of the Day of Judgment and resurrection. So God says:
“Then what causes you deny the recompense? Is not God the best of the judges?” (1)
Yes He is the best judge because on the one side His knowledge encompasses every thing and nothing is hidden from Him and the condition for judging is that one must have complete knowledge about what is being judged. On the other side He is not dependent on any thing or any person that he may misjudge. It is the dependent man who sometimes due to personal benefits or wrongful ideas gives wrong judgments but He is the best of all judges.
The notable point is that the Messenger has been quoted to have said about the end of this verse: “Yes! I stand witness that the Day of Judgment is a divine truth and God is the best of all judges.” This hadith also confirms the above verse (Reflect)
