The features of the book of deedsThe Explanation of the Verses

Those who have some knowledge of the Qura’n are aware that there are in it many verses that speak literally about the unraveling of the deeds on the Day of Judgment. The Deeds of a person on that Day whether good or bad will come before him. They will either be a source of joy and happiness or will result in chastisement. He will either get prominence because of them or infamy.

Is it possible that the deeds of men will remain when they are the results of actions that fade away? Is it possible that the deed which is the result of human action become a body and be manifested in various ways?

Since some commentators have not been able to answer these two questions they had no recourse but avoid explaining such verses. They say that the presentation of the deeds or seeing them means that man will have a vision about them in parts or the punishments.

But I feel that answer both the above questions is not impossible and so there is no reason to deny those verses that speak about the physical manifestation of the deeds and we can instead solve a lot of riddles through their literal meanings about rewards and punishment on the Day of Judgment. The meanings of these verses are not only very in-depth and effective but they have an educative importance also.

We will see the details later Inshallah. With this brief introduction we again turn to the Qura’n and study the verses about this issue.

Verses 6 to 8 of Surah Zilzaal:

“On that Day men will proceed in selected groups to be shown their deeds. Then shall anyone who has done an atom of good see it and anyone who has done an atom shall see it.”

Verse 49 of Surah Kahf:

“And they will find all that they did place before them.”

Verse 30 of Surah Al Imran:” On the Day when every soul will be confronted with all the good it has done, and all the evil it has done and it will that there was a great distance between it and its evil.”

Verse 48 of Surah Zumar:

“And all the evil deeds shall confront them and they will be encircled by that which they used to mock.” (1)

Verse 180 of Surah Al Imran:

“It will be tied to their necks like twisted collars on the Day of Judgment.”

Verses 12 to 14 of Surah Takwir:

“When the blazing fire is turned to fierce heat and the Garden is brought near each soul shall know what it has put forward.”

Verse 19 of Surah Ahqaf:

“And all are classified according to their deeds and so that they may be recompensed (By God) and no injustice will be done to them.”

Verse 70 of Surah Zumar:

“And every soul will be paid in full for its deeds, and God knows best all that they do.”

Verse 272 of Surah Baqarah:

“All the good you do shall be rendered back to you and you shall not be dealt unjustly.” (2)

Verse 281 of Surah Baqarah and 161 of Surah Al Imran.

“And then shall every soul be paid what it has earned and no one will be dealt unjustly.”

Verse 35 of Surah Tauba:

“On the Day it will be heated in the fire of Hell and with which will be branded their foreheads, their flanks and their backs, this is what you hoarded for yourselves then taste what you hoarded.”(3)
