The Wisdom about blowing the trumpetThe Explanation of the Verses

The Qura’n has discussed the Book of Deeds in details with various des c r i p tions. The word book has been used and it has a vast meaning that includes the term “Book of Deeds” also.

In some verses the word “Zabar’ has been used which is the plural of “Zabur” and it too has a meaning that is close to the word “Book”

In some verses it is referred to as “Tayir” which means a bird. The Arabs used to consult it for future deeds and considered their lives attached to them. The Qura’n says that the bird of your well being and damnation is this Book of deeds.

In some verse there is the mention of those who write the deeds and they have been named as “Raqib”, A’teed”, messengers of God, “Karaman” and “Mutlaqian”. Each name has its own meaning and message. (Reflect)

What is this Book of Deeds? Will a person have one book or more? Who write the Book of Deeds? How is it written? How will it be given in the right or left hand of a person? These questions will be answered after the explanation of the verses. But we should note that the most important factor here also is their educative and nurturing nature.

With this brief introduction we return to the Qura’n and study the verses about this subject as follows:

Verse 12 of Surah Yasin:

“Verily We give life to the dead and we record that which they send before (them) and that which they leave behind and We have recorded all things in a clear book.”

Verse 49 of Surah Kahf:

“And the Book will be placed and you will see the sinful in great terror because of what is recorded. The will say, “Woe to us! What sort of book is this that does not omit any thing small or big but has numbered them. They will find all that they did placed before them and not one will your Lord treat unjustly.”

Verse 80 of Surah Zukhruf:

“ Or do they think that we do not hear their secrets and their private counsels ? (We do) and our Messengers are with them to record.”

Verses 28 and 29 of Surah Jasiya:

“ And you will see every nation keeling. Each nation will face its record. You will be this Day for what you used to do. 29. Our record speaks the truth about you. Verily we were recording what you did.”

Verses 13 ands 14 of Surah Isra:

Mutafffifin:

“ No! Truly the record of the sinners is preserved in the archives. And what will make you know what Sijjin is? It is a register of records.

No the record of the pious is preserved in Illiyun (Annals) and what will explain it? An inscribed register.”

Verses 17 and 18 of Surah Qaf:

Verses 7 to 12 of Surah Inshiqaq:

“ And as for him who will be given his record in the right hand will surely have an easy reckoning and will return to his family in happiness. But he who is given his record (tied) behind his neck shall invoke destruction and shall be thrown into the blazing fire.”

Verses 8 and 9 of Surah Waqiah:
