Some Important Issues that May Happen in Umrah

Esteftas Related to Issues of Umrah:Rituals and Mustahabbat of Umrah

1- Using roofed vehicles in the state of Ihram is permitted during nights or from dawn until sunrise, or completely cloudy days which shade has no effect on keeping from sunlight and rain, as it doesn’t have problem to ride roofed vehicles in the city of Mecca (whether during the day or night), but it is better to observe the precaution in that part which is out of Haram (which means the side that is further than Masjid al-Tan’eem), but foresaid precaution is not obligatory because the parts after Tan’eem are also parts of city of Mecca.

 

2- If Muhrim looks at the mirror involuntarily then it doesn’t have problem, and it is better cover mirrors of rooms that Muhrims live in there and the path they resort like inside lifts during the days of Hajj or Umrah in order to prevent involuntary looks at them.

 

3- It is obligatory precaution for Muhrim not to kill insects (like mosquito, bee, fly, grasshopper etc.), whether it is on his/her body or clothing or any other place, also not to kill any moving creature except that harms him/her or malefic and dangerous animals (like snake and scorpion). And if Muhrim kills them deliberately then it has atonement and its atonement is some food (for instance giving a loaf of bread to a poor person); Therefore, Muhrim should observe grasshoppers, ants etc. while he/she is walking.

 

4- It is not necessary to perform Tawaf in the distance between Maqam of Ibrahim and the hose of Ka’ba, and Tawaf is permitted in the entire Masjid al-Haraam (especially when crowd is congested), but it is better not to exceed the foresaid distance if it is possible.

 

5- It is not necessary to keep the left shoulder parallel to Ka’ba in all conditions, and it is enough to circumambulate the house of Ka’ba normally like all people.

 

6- Whenever Tawaf-performers are too much that move person forward involuntarily then it doesn’t harm Tawaf, and it is enough to make the intention to go among people for performing Tawaf from the beginning, although Muhrim knows that pressure of crowd move him/her forward.

 

7- Performing Tawaf in the roof and second level of Masjid al-Haraam has problem; but Tawaf of persons who have to perform Tawaf in those places is correct and there is no need to take proxy.

 

8- Place of prayer of obligatory Tawaf is behind Maqam of Ibrahim; but it is permitted to perform prayer more behind that place if crowd is too congested, especially when crowd is too much congested that reach behind Maqam of Ibrahim, that in this case Muhrim should not disturb Tawaf-performers and should not insist on performing prayer behind Maqam, and acts which some commons do and take enchain their hands and disturb Tawaf-performers are not correct; but prayer of Mustahab Tawaf can be performed anywhere in the mosque.

 

9- Performing prayer of Tawaf in congregation has problem, even as a precaution, as people should correct the recitation of Hamd and Sura as much as possible and recite personally.

 

10- Performing Sa’y of Safa and Marwah is not permitted in upper level, except when crowd is too much congested that performing Sa’y in lower level has severe hardness.

 

11- It is enough to wend a part of uphill of Safa and Marwah during Sa’y of Safa and Marwah, and it is not necessary to reach the bare part of the hill and to stick the foot on that place, because covered uphill in Safa and Marwah is a part of the hill.

 

12- Sitting for rest doesn’t have problem during obligatory Tawaf, but it is better to observe that conventional sequence doesn’t pass, which means not to delay too long; but sitting during Sa’y for rest and like that doesn’t have problem as much as it is, whether is Safa or Marwah or between them.

 

13- It is better to renounce Mustahab Tawaf when crowd is congested and to free the place of Tawaf for persons who perform obligatory Tawaf.

 

14- Performing prayer with Ahl -e- Sonnat and attending their congregations during Hajj is one affirmed Mustahab acts for keeping the unity of Muslims and it causes to strengthen the rows in front of enemies, and it has been affirmed so much in cabbalas of infallibles (a.s.) and such prayer suffices as obligatory prayer and performing that again is not necessary.

 

15- Respected Hajjis can follow them in the issue of prayer time and like that and perform prayer with them, and for prostration, prostrate on stones of floor of mosque if it is possible (because prostration is permitted on all of those stones) and if they cannot then prostrate on carpet, and it is not necessary to perform prayer with hands on the chest or say amen after Hamd Sura.

 

16- Whenever people who are in Masjid al-Haraam or their other mosques at the time of Iftar of fasting are insisted to perform Iftar, it doesn’t have problem to perform Iftar at the time of Ahl -e- Sonnat and their fasting is correct.

 

17- Using hand-held fans, no cotton mats or ordinary mats with thin strings is permitted for prostration in all conditions, and it is not necessary to use Mohr (prayer seal) that oppositions have been sensitized about that because of false propagandas, and using Mohr has problems in some cases, that causes skeptic views and objections.

 

18- Proxy and hired person should perform the acts of Hajj according to his/her own Ijtihad or Taqlid not Ijtihad or Taqlid of the person who has delegated to him/her.

 

19- Pilgrims of the house of Allah have the option to choose between performing their prayers in Masjid al-Haraam and Masjid al-Nabi and the entire of Medina and Mecca city complete or shortened, and complete prayer is preferred, and there is no difference between old and new Mecca and Medina.

 

20- Traveler can perform Mustahab fasting for three days in Medina in order to get his/her needs (although doesn’t make the intention of ten days) and it is necessary precaution to choose Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

 

21- Wearing Ihram is permitted in the entire place that today is included in Masjid al-Shajarah; even it is also permitted to wear Ihram beside Masjid al-Shajarah.

 

22- Shiite Hajjis and followers of Ahl -e- Bait (a.s.) should not attend and establish separate congregation prayers in groups in caravans, Masjid al-Haraam or Masjid al-Nabi during Hajj and such congregation prayer is not free of problems, unless it is congregation prayer of only some persons.

 

23- Pilgrims of the house of Allah should abstain from all acts that vilify religion, like:

A) Returning from Masjid al-Haraam and Masjid al-Nabi and congregation rows at the time of Azan or near that.

B) Trading in bazaars and streets or returning with purchased goods to caravans in these hours, and should leave these acts and attend congregations.

C) Congregating behind the wall of Baqi for pilgrimage of tombs of infallibles (a.s.) at the time of congregation prayer.

D) Wearing unsuitable clothes which vilify the religion in front of eyes of people.

E) Confronting violently in speech or behavior with other pilgrims of the house of Allah or habitants of Mecca and Medina.

Briefly, followers of Ahl -e- Bait (a.s.) should behave in the way that all people feel that they have an excellent culture because of the blessings of following Ahl -e- Bait (a.s.) and do not give any excuse to oppositions, which this act increases the benefits and blessings of their Hajj, Allah willing!
